Harmony Gardens Weddings

Happy Halloween!  How about celebrating with some wedding cake!

I love flowers.  Which is good, since we are a garden!  Today I wanted to showcase some flowers and bouquets. Although, the tradition of carrying bouquets may have originated with carrying garlic and other herbs, that is not quite so common today. There is still plenty of tradition, however, when it comes to deciding which flower or item to carry.  Some choose flowers based on color, some the time of year, location can be a factor if you are looking for a locally grown bloom, and some brides create bouquets of meaningful items.  What is your bouquet style?  What does that say about your personality?

Have you ever wondered how it all began?

Well perhaps not “all” as in everything, but as in the beginning of Harmony Gardens Wedding Garden?  Little did we know then, as smiling newlyweds, that we would be able to share our special spot, our mostly unknown venue, with so many after us!

It all started 9 years ago. (cue dramatic music) Joe and I were engaged, planning our wedding. We decided to do it on my family’s property, the location of Harmony Gardens. Then it was a tropical plant nursery. There had already been a few weddings and events in the beautiful gardens, so it was decided! This would be our venue!

It was such a beautiful spot, intimate and with so much potential to make it uniquely ours. Joe and his family built a marble dance floor. I hopped on a Bobcat and graded out some flat spaces for dining.  My dad built a variety of structures and we developed the first phase of what is now Harmony Gardens Wedding Garden.

So, this is a bit of a throw back, but I was admiring some of Kristen Wynn’s recent photography on Facebook and decided to pull this one out of the “archives”.  So simple and elegant!
